Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

No tests with soil organisms are available for Fatty acids, C18-unsatd., dimers, 2-ethylhexyl esters (CAS No. 68334-05-4), but due to the substance properties and use, a hazard to soil organisms is assumed to be low. Due to its ready biodegradability it is not likely that terrestrial organisms will be exposed to Fatty acids, C18-unsatd., dimers, 2-ethylhexyl esters since it will be ultimately degraded in sewage treatment plants. Furthermore, the substance is not directly applied to soil it is assumed that the substance will not enter the terrestrial environment and as such there is no need for testing of soil organisms (Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment, R7c, pg. 109, ECHA 2012). Furthermore Fatty acids, C18-unsatd., dimers, 2-ethylhexyl esters showed no toxicity in studies with aquatic organisms.

Thus, the generation of soil toxicity data is not required.
