EC number: 500-204-4
CAS number: 68334-05-4
Hydrolysis is not relevant due to ready biodegradability of the substance.
No experimental studies investigating the abiotic hydrolysis of Fatty
acids, C18-unsatd., dimers, 2-ethylhexylesters (CAS No. 68334-05-4) are
available. However, in accordance with Annex VIII, column 2 (subsection
18.104.22.168) of Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, testing for hydrolysis as a
function of pH is not required since the substance is readily
biodegradable. In addition, QSAR calculations (HYDROWIN v2.00) indicate,
that hydrolysis can indeed be considered a negligible pathway for the
fate of the substance in the environment, with a DT50 value (pH 7) > 1
yr (Erler, 2013).
