Additional information

PFBE (3,3,4,4,5,5,6,6,6-nonafluorohexene) is a clear colourless liquid with an ether-like odour at normal temperature and pressure. The relative density is 1.4kg/l and Boiling Point 58°C. It is highly volatile (vapour pressure 22 kPa at 20°C) and of low water solubility (15.6 mg/l at 20°C). Consequently in aqueous media PFBE partitions rapidly to air.

PFBE has a flash point of -17 ± 2°C and is therefore classified according to EU Directive 67/548/EEC as Highly Flammable (R11) and as a Category 2 Flammable Liquid (H225) according to the EU Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures (CLP) Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008.
