- Executive summary:
The vapour pressure of Chlorendic Acid was determined in accordance with OECD Testing Guideline 104 and EU Method A4 using the Knudsen cell effusion method. The vapour pressure was too low to be measured at 52°C (results for this temperature were excluded from calculations of final results), but good results were achieved from 91 to 115°C giving confidence in the extrapolated results. The vapour pressure was calculated to be 1.875E-8 Pa at 20°C and 3.685E-8 Pa at 25°C.

The vapour pressure was too low to be measured at 52°C (results for this temperature were excluded from calculations of final results), but good results were achieved from 91 to 115°C giving confidence in the extrapolated results.
Three runs were performed between 27 and 79 C. The same sample was used for each tes, with the pressure being kept at less than 1*10 -5 Torr.
Description of key information
Although the vapour pressure of chlorendic anhydride was measured as 2.68E-03 Pa at 25°C, chlorendic anhydride hydrolyses to chlorendic acid in the environment. Therefore the vapour pressure of chlorendic acid (1.875E-8 Pa at 20°C) was used for the Chemical Safety Assessment.
