Description of key information

The short-term toxicity of Chlorendic Anhydride to the fresh water invertebrate species Daphnia magna was examined in accordance to the OECD guideline for the testing of chemicals 202. As Chlorendic Anhydride forms Chlorendic Acid in aqueous medium, the degradation product was actually tested.

A 48 hours toxicity test was performed on the fresh water invertebrate species Daphnia magna. A limit test was performed at a concentration of 100 mg/l with analytical monitoring and the EC50 value was determined by observation of mobility. The tests were conducted under controlled conditions. Dosing was performed under static conditions. Positive and negative controls were valid.

The test material did not induce immobilisation of the selected test species Daphnia Magna with the EC50 being greater than 100 mg/L.
