Effects on fertility

Effect on fertility: via oral route
Dose descriptor:
NOAEL
223 mg/kg bw/day
Additional information

Chlorendic Anhydride was considered to be inactive in the Mouse Dominant Lethal Assay and did not induce dominant lethality under the test conditions employed in this evaluation.

Information on the toxicity to the reproduction of chlorendic anhydride were obtained during repeated-dose toxicity studies by the oral route on rats. No effects were identified on reproductive organs during the subchronic toxicity study. Effects on preputial gland that could be related to the exposure to chlorendic acid along with effects on uterus were identified during the carcinogenicity study.

Effects on developmental toxicity

Description of key information
Chlorendic Anhydride was not considered to be teratogenic under the conditions of this study.
Effect on developmental toxicity: via oral route
Dose descriptor:
NOAEL
400 mg/kg bw/day
Additional information

Chlorendic Anhydride is not considered teratogenic in rats in dosage levels up to and including 400 mg kg day

Justification for classification or non-classification

Chlorendic anhydride is not classified as toxic to reproduction as negative results were obtained in the reproductive and teratogenetic studies.
