Description of key information

Flammability:
In accordance with section 2 of REACH Annex XI, a study is technically not feasible as the substance is a liquid. The flammability of a liquid is described by the flash point.
Pyrophoric properties:
In accordance with section 1 of REACH Annex XI, a study does not need to be conducted as it is scientifically unjustified. Based on experience during handling and use, no pyrophoric properties were observed and the structure does not give a reference to pyrophoric properties.
Contact with water:
In accordance with section 1 of REACH Annex XI, a study does not need to be conducted as it is scientifically unjustified. Based on experience during handling and use, the substance does not liberate highly flammable gases on contact with water or humid air.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
flammable

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

The substance is not classified in the Annex I of Directive 67/548/EEC. According to the information summarized in this below, a self-classification on flammability is needed:

- The flash point is 63°C. Therefore a classification as Flam. Liquid 4 (H227) is required.

- No pyrophoric property, based on experience from production and handling;

- It does not ignite spontaneously with water and does not liberate flammable gases in hazardous amounts in contact with water.
