Additional information

Titanium nitride is an inorganic substance which is as such not biodegradable.

In addition, the substance is considered practically insoluble in water (23.8 µg Ti/L at 100 mg loading, pH 6 after 7 days in a transformation/dissolution test according to OECD Series on Testing and Assessment No. 29), and chemically stable. Therefore, adsorption/desorption testing is considered technically not feasible. Furthermore, titanium nitride is predicted not to be prone to hydrolysis hence testing is considered scientifically unjustified.
