Endpoint:
adsorption / desorption: screening
Data waiving:
study technically not feasible
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the physicochemical properties of the substance indicate that it can be expected to have a low potential for adsorption

Description of key information

In a study according to the OECD Series on Testing and Assessment No 29, the maximum water solubility of TiN was determined to be 23.8 µgTi/L (100 mg loading, pH 6, 7 days). Thus, significant adsorption of dissolved Ti ions to soil/sediment particles will not occur. In addition, based on water solubility limitations, tests on adsorption/desorption are technically not feasible.
