Details on results:
Single administration of 1,4-dichlorobut-2-ene to rats caused specific nephrotoxic changes manifested by disruption of canalicular reabsorption and development of necrotic nephrosis. Urinary creatinine excretion increased, compared to the control, by 65-77% after 1,4-dichlorobenzene administration. Chlorides in the urine decreased substantially (54-73%, 1,4-dichlorobenzene). Serum creatinine, however, was unchanged. Chronic intoxication affected the filtration function of the kidney and caused dystrophic changes in canalicular epithelium and glomeruli.
