- Details on study design:
- An epidemiology study was conducted on 598 male workers exposed to 1,4-dichlorobut-2 ene at the Victoria plant of DuPont Co. in Texas, USA from 1956 through 1983 for cancer incidence, and from 1957 through 1980 for mortality.
Results and discussion

- By comparing the mortality and cancer rates of the DuPont Company with the US national rates, the results did not indicate that employees are at an increased risk of developing cancer.
- Strengths and weaknesses:
- The validity of this study suffers from its limited statistical power due to the small size of the cohort.
