Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Study was performed without adjustment of pH value.

Endpoint:
partition coefficient
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: Discrepancy between documented test parameters and standard methods, but scientifically acceptable
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 117 (Partition Coefficient (n-octanol / water), HPLC Method)
Principles of method if other than guideline:
The measured log Pow of Plastomoll DNA was lying out of the recommended (OECD guideline) testing range (log Pow between 0 and 6). Because of a better transparency to UV-light acetonitril was used instead of methanol.
GLP compliance:
no

Description of key information

The log Pow value of read-across substance, bis(2-ethylhexyl) adipate, was determined to be 8.94.

The log Pow value of read-across substance, diisononyl adipate, was determined to be in the range, 9.56 to 10.4.

The partition coefficient of the substance was estimated using QSAR (KOWWIN model). The range of the log Kow values of the components of the UVCB substance was determined to be  9.1. to 11.06.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Log Kow (Log Pow):
11.06
at the temperature of:
25 °C
