Description of key information

- water solubility at 20°C: < 0.1 mg/L (EU Method A.6)
- water solubility at 25 °C based on QSAR: 0.025 mg/L (EPIWIN/WSKOWWIN v1.42 by US-EPA)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Water solubility:
0.1 mg/L
at the temperature of:
25 °C

Additional information

The water solubility of the test item was determined in a GLP guideline study according to EU Method A.6. Using the flask method the water solubility was determined to be < 10 mg/L (20°C) at pH 11.6. However, the analytical method used in this study was not sensitive enough to quantify the concentration of the test item. Therefore the study was repeated (with different testing / analytical method) where a more precise water solubility was obtained: < 0.1 mg/L (20°C) at pH 6.6 -6.8 [key value for chemical safety assessment].

Finally, the insolubility of the test item was confirmed by a QSAR estimated value: <0.025 mg/L at 20°C (WSKOW v1.42 by US EPA); at this a partition coefficient (logPow) of 8 was taken into account since this value represents the maximum valid logPow value in EUSES or EU-TGD approach.
