Description of key information

Water solubility (tris(2-methoxyethoxy)vinylsilane): 71,000 mg/l at 20°C (QSAR)
Water solubility (vinylsilanetriol): 1,000,000 mg/l at 20°C (QSAR)
Water solubility (2-methoxyethanol): 1,000,000 mg/l at 20°C

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A single measured water solubility value for the substance of 200,000 mg/l is available. The reliability of this result was not assignable because a very small amount of information is available. Therefore, a water solubility of 71,000 mg/l at 20°C was calculated using a validated QSAR and this is assigned as key study. The substance hydrolyses rapidly in contact with water and therefore the same QSAR method was used to calculate the solubility of the silanol hydrolysis product. A water solubility of 1,000,000 mg/l is reported in secondary literature for the other hydrolysis product, 2 -methoxyethanol.
