Description of key information

The biodegradability of Benzenesulfonic acid, C10-13-alkyl derivs., compds. with 2-propanamine (1:1) was studied in a OECD 301 B (CO2 -evolution) test (Gledhill W.E., 2005). For both the reference and test substance >60% degradation was achieved. The test substance is readily biodegradable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
readily biodegradable

The biodegradation of LAS-IPA may be further described by the biodegradation of LAS-Na and IPA according to the read-across statement in which full dissociation of the LAS-IPA in water is supported. Both LAS-Na and IPA were shown to be readily biodegradable.
