Description of key information

Reactive Blue 072 is a deep blue powder, solid at 20 °C. No melting point was detected till 350 °C. The test substance started decomposing at 280 °C. The boiling point of FAT 40045/Z could not be determined as the test substance started decomposing at approx. 280 °C. The average density of test substance at 20 °C temperature was found to be 2.1919 g/cm³. In accordance with Column 2 of REACH Annex VII, the vapour pressure study does not need to be conducted if the melting point is above 300 °C. No melting point for this substance was detected till 350 °C as it started decomposing at 280 °C. Hence the study is considered to be scientifically not necessary. The particle size distribution of FAT 40045/Z was determined according to CIPAC MT 187. This was achieved using the laser diffraction method with dry dispersion. The optical observation of the test item was as follows:

L10D (v, 0.1): 9.50 µm

L50D (v, 0.5): 18.6 µm

L90D (v, 0.9): 35.6 µm

The partition coefficient n-octanol/water of the test item at 20 °C, from the individual solubility in water and n-octanol, was determined to be -5.33 (log Pow). The water solubility of FAT 40045/Z at a temperature of 20 °C was determined to be 376.0 g/L. The surface tension of FAT 40045/Z was determined to be 59.956 mN/m at room temperature ca 20 °C. In the melting point study with FAT 40045/Z, no melting point was detected till 350 °C. The test substance started decomposing at 280 °C. Hence, the study is considered as technically not feasible. The auto-ignition temperature of FAT 40045/Z is >550 °C. FAT 40045/Z should be considered as not highly flammable. FAT 40045/Z is considered to be neither explosive nor oxidizing.
