Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Reaction mass:
Calculated: 50 hPa at 20 degrees C
Ethanol:
57.26hPa @ 19.6C
78.7hPa @ 25C
79.1hPa @ 25C
5.85kPa@20C
Isopropanol:
Two separate TGD-approved handbooks report that the substance has a vapour pressure of 6.02 kPa at 25°C or 4.4 kPa at 20°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Vapour pressure:
50 hPa
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

A calculated value for the reaction mass revealed a value of 50 hPa which is in line with the results of the constituents.

Ethanol:

Consistent values are available from multiple sources, including values at different temperatures. The key parameter retained is from a measured value from a published experimental study.

Isopropanol:

Information regarding vapour pressure of IPA was sourced from two separate handbooks. CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics (81st Ed) and NIOSH Pocket Guide to Chemical Hazards, which are known to contain peer-reviewed data of Klimisch-2 reliability report that the substance has a vapour pressure of 60.2 hPa at 25°C (6020 Pa at 298.15 K) and 44 hPa at 20°C (4400 Pa at 293.15) respectively.
