Description of key information

With high probability not harmful to aquatic algae.
EC50 (72h) and EC10 (72h) > 100 mg/L (nominal) for growth rate of Desmodesmus subspicatus (OECD 201)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In a GLP guideline study following OECD 201 green algae (Desmodesmus subspicatus) were exposed for 72 hours to

'2 -Propyn-1-ol, compound with methyloxirane' [BASF SE, 2013]. The aquatic toxicity was determined with a nominal concentration of 100 mg/L. No algal growth inhibition was observed in the treatment compared to the control. Thus, the 72-h EC50 and EC10 for growth rate inhibition is determined to be > 100 mg/L (nominal).
