BOD5 / COD results

Results with reference substance:
Converted to 84 % CO2 after 28 days; the threshold value for the the validity criterion of >60 % degradation within 10 days was already exceeded within 8 days (66 %).

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Interpretation of results:
readily biodegradable
Conclusions:
The test substance is readily biodegradable following OECD 301B.
Executive summary:

The average degree of degradation of the test item was 80% after 28 days. Accordingly, the test substance is to be defined as "readily biodegradable". The degree of degradation in the first test solution was 76%, in the second test solution a degradation rate of 85% was determined.

The included toxicity control showed no indication of an inhibitory effect. Therefore, when applying the 10-day-window, the test substance is readily biodegradable following OECD 301B.
