Endpoint:
viscosity
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2010-01-27 till 2010-01-29
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: GLP guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Test Guideline 114 (Viscosity of Liquids)
Deviations:
no
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
other: DIN 53019
Deviations:
no
Principles of method if other than guideline:
The functional principle is to determine the flow resistance of a fluid in a small gap between a static cup and a rotating bob. The torque at a given speed is a direct function of the viscosity of the liquid. Specific bobs are used for different viscosity ranges. The control of the measurement parametersand the evaluation of the data are performed automatically by the apparatus. The study was performed at 20 °C (± 0.2 °C) and at 40 °C (± 0.2 °C)..
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
rotational viscometer (dynamic)
Temp.:
20°C
Parameter:
other: Pa*s
Value:
0.985
Temp.:
40°C
Parameter:
other: Pa*s
Value:
0.119

at 20°C: the 1. value = 0.9857; the 2. value = 0.9847

at 40°C: the 1. value = 0.1202; the 2. value = 0.1182

Conclusions:
The viscosity of ‘N-1,4-dimethylpentyl-N’-phenyl-p-phenylenediamine' is specified as 0.9852 Pa·s at 20 °C and 0.1192 Pa·s at 40°C (Currenta, 2009).
Executive summary:

The viscosity of ‘N-1,4-dimethylpentyl-N’-phenyl-p-phenylenediamine' is specified as 0.9852 Pa·s at 20 °C and 0.1192 Pa·s at 40°C.
