PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

Commercial Dragon II Summary PBT Assessment:

P: Meets screening level criteria for P (not readily biodegradable)

B: Does not meet screening level criteria for B (Log Kow < 4.5 at -2.7)

T: Does not meet screening level criteria for T (lowest NOEC >>0.01 mg/L)

Other information: Commercial Dragon has been shown to degrade on contact with sewage to form the ligand (Trimethyl 1,4,7 Triazacyclononane Trihydrochloride) by removal of Manganese from the complex. Due to the relevance of this degradation product to the environmental risk assessment of Commercial Dragon, a number of studies have been conducted to assess its environmental profile.

From these studies it can be shown that the environmental profile of the Ligand is similar to the parent Commercial Dragon. However, as the parent material shows a higher ecotoxicity, the risk assessment has been conducted on the parent, rather than the Ligand.

Likely routes of exposure:

Substance is used in consumer home care products with a wide dispersive use
