Results

Preliminary estimation

The solubility of the test item in four test solutions; distilled water, buffer at pH 4, buffer at pH 4 and buffer at pH 9 was found to be between 20 mg/L and 100 mg/L. Therefore the solubility had to be determined by the “flask method”.

Pre-tests in Distilled Water and in Buffers at pH 4, pH 7 and pH 9 according to the Flask Method

The pre-tests indicated solubility in distilled water and at pH 4, pH 7 and pH 9 above 10 mg/L. No significant pH dependency was observed. Therefore, for the main tests the water solubility by the flask method was only determined in distilled water.
