Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

No information on acute or chronic effects on birds is available. However, since the substances are all highly soluble, rapidly dissociating, inorganic salts that do not bioaccumulate, secondary poisoning is unlikely to be a relevant exposure route.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In chapter R.10 of the Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment (ECHA 2008, p. 42) concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH), it is laid down that "the chemicals of concern with respect to secondary poisoning include lipophillic organic chemicals and some metal compounds". The physicochemical data of the components of the reaction mass indicate that the substance has only a small adsorption potential and is not bioaccumulative. Particularly the high water solubility and the ionic nature of the constituents indicate that the substance will not accumulate in soil and an exposure of terrestrial organisms is not expected. Therefore and for reasons of animal welfare studies on toxicity to birds were not conducted.
