Description of key information

p-TSH is a white solid at room temperature (the median particle size of the test substance was 25.60242 (μm) and the mean size 28.74505 (μm)). It has the following chemical-physical properties:

Melting temperature: 110oC

Boiling temperature: Decomposes

Relative density: 1.298

Vapor pressure at 20oC: 3.9E-6 Pa

It is considered a non-flammable solid. It starts to melt and decompose at about 105 -110oC releasing primarily the non-flammable nitrogen (N2) and water.

The self-reactive properties of toluene-4-sulphonohydrazide tested according to UN Test Series A to H described in Part II of the UN RTDG, Manual of Tests and Criteria (BAM, 1992, results provided in confidential Annex of CLH report, https://echa.europa.eu/documents/10162/fc92bff4-f7a3-e741-973a-8400991031ae) fulfil the criteria for classification self-reactive substance TYPE D).
