Additional information

Once released into the aquatic compartment, methyldiacetoxyisopropoxy silane (CAS No. 329039-38-5) will hydrolyze rapidly (DT50 < 4 h) mainly into methylsilanetriol, acetic acid and isopropanol. Based on the log Pow values of methyldiacetoxyisopropoxy silane and degradation products, all below 3, a low potential for adsorption to soil and sediment particles is expected. In view of its vapour pressure value (199 Pa), this substance can be considered as volatile. Nevertheless, due to its susceptibility to undergo indirect photodegradation (by reaction with OH-radicals) in air, accumulation in air and transport through the atmosphere into other environmental compartments is not expected to occur to a significant degree (DT50= 31 h).
