A substance is identified as a PBT substance if it fulfills the criteria of Annex XIII to the regulation (EC) No 1907/2006. Although these criteria do not apply to inorganic substances as perchloric acid, experimental BCF values of perchlorate in fish show that this substance is not bioaccumulable. Therefore, perchloric acid is not a PBT or vPvB substance.
