Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The test substance 3,3,5-trimethylcyclohexanone was tested in the Alga, Growth Inhibition Test according to the OECD Guideline for the Testing of Chemicals No. 201 (23 March 2006) using the single cell green algae Desmodesmus subspicatus as test organism. The experiment was carried out as a static test, i.e. the test substance preparations were not exchanged for the whole exposure period of 72 hours. Based on non-GLP pre-test results the main test was performed with test substance concentrations of nominal 0, 6.25, 12.5, 25, 50, and 100 mg/L culture medium. During this study the test substance concentrations of nominal 6.25, 25, and 100 mg/L culture medium and the control (culture medium) were determined by the test site AQura GmbH by gas chromatography. The results of this study show that the test substance 3,3,5-trimethylcyclohexanone induced no inhibition of algal growth with an EC50 (72h) for growth rate of > 82.27 mg/L (geometric mean measured; 100 mg/L nominal) and an NOEC (72 h) for growth rate of > = 100 mg/L (geometric mean measured; 100 mg/L nominal).
