Description of key information

In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex IX, the bioaccumulation in aquatic species study does not need to be conducted as the substance has a low potential for bioaccumulation (the substance has a log octanol water partition coefficient less than 3).
As no experimental data for bioaccumulation of 3,3,5-trimethylcyclohexanone in aquatic species is available, the BCF for fish is calculated using measured log Kow data (2.6 at 25 °C; see IUCLID section 4.7).
The BCF, calculated using the equation reported in the ECHA Guidance R.7.10.3.2, p. 17: (log BCF = 0.85 x log Kow – 0.70; R2 = 0.897, log Kow range = 1 – 5.5), is approximately 32.4.
The BCF of 32.4 is recommended for 3,3,5-trimethylcyclohexanone bioconcentration in this risk assessment.
