- Executive summary:
The 48-hr-acute toxicity of trimethylolpropane to Daphnia magna was studied under static conditions. Daphnids were exposed to the substance at nominal concentrations of 5,000; 7,500; 10,000; 15,000, 20,000, 25,000; 40,0000 mg/L. Immobilization was observed at 24 and 48h. The 48-hour EC50 was 13,000 mg/L (based on nominal concentrations).
This study is classified as acceptable and satisfies the guideline requirements for an acute toxicity study with freshwater invertebrates.
