Description of key information
Although the substance does contain oxygen, it is considered scientifically unjustified to perform a test as the proportion of oxygen is very low (only 1 atom per molecule). In addition, none of the chemical groups that are associated with oxidizing properties are present in the molecular structure of the substance.

In accordance with Section 1 of REACH Annex XI, testing for oxidizing properties was not considered necessary. Indeed, although the substance contains oxygen, its proportion is very low (only 1 atom per molecule). In addition, none of the chemical groups that are associated with oxidizing properties are present in the molecular structure of the substance. The chemical groups that are associated with oxidizing properties are mentioned in Table R.7.1-29 on page 141 of the ECHA Guidance document “Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment, Chapter R.7a: Endpoint specific guidance" of May 2008 (and are adapted from Bretherick’s Handbook of Chemical Reactive Hazards).
Justification for classification or non-classification
Although the substance contains oxygen, the proportion is very low (only 1 atom per molecule). In addition, none of the chemical groups that are associated with oxidizing properties are present in the molecular structure of the substance. Hence, no classification is required for this endpoint according to CLP (EC 1272/2008).
