Description of key information

LC50 (96h) = 1.2 mg/L for Cyprinus carpio
Nevertheless this endpoint is not used for PNEC-calculation as PNEC-values are calculated on the basis of a HC5-approach.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Since no data for alcohol ethoxylate (C10-12, < 2.5 EO, CAS 67254 -71 -1) are available the acute toxicity on fish is assessed on the basis of data from a study with a similar alcohol ethoxylate (C12, 4 EO, CAS 9002-92-0).

The study was carried out according to GLP and EU Method C.1 (Acute Toxicity for Fish) with analytical verification of the test concentrations (Scholz, 1997). Carp (Cyprinus carpio) was exposed for 96 h under semi-static conditions. Based on nominal concentrations, an LC50 (96h) of 1.2 mg/L is reported.
