Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The following data are available:

   TEGME  TetraEGME
 Measured value  -1.12
 QSAR prediction  -1.45

 -1.73

For the closely related substance TEGME, the QSAR reasonably accurately predicts the measured value, within ~0.3 log units. The QSAR suggests that the logKow decreases with increasing molecular weight of the oligomeric chain. A weight of evidence approach, using the measured data as a starting point and the QSAR predictions to establish the likely change with the addition of an extra ethylene oxide unit to the molecule, leads to the conclusion that the log partition coefficient will be around -1.5. This is considered sufficiently accurate to predict the environmental fate of this substance (almost exclusively partitioning to the water phase and no binding to sediments/soils.)
