Endpoint:
vapour pressure
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
study well documented, meets generally accepted scientific principles, acceptable for assessment
Qualifier:
no guideline followed
Principles of method if other than guideline:
The vapour pressure of HFO-1234ze was measured using a heated MKS pressure transducer. A cylinder of degassed HFO-1234ze(E) was placed in a constant temperature bath. The pressure was measured using a MKS pressure transducer (model 628RCTBE1B), which was heated to 100 °C to avoid condensation. The temperature of the bath was measured using a platinum thermometer which has an uncertainty of ± 0.001 °C. The MKS pressure transducer was calibrated using a dead weight tester and determined to have an uncertainty of ± 0.25 %.
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
other: heated MKS pressure transducer
Key result
Temp.:
21 °C
Vapour pressure:
427 kPa
Remarks on result:
other: MKS transducer method
Conclusions:
The vapour pressure of HFO-1234ze is 427.1 kPa at 20 °C
Executive summary:

The vapour pressure of HFO-1234ze was determined using a heated MKS pressure transducer and found to be 427.1 kPa at 20 °C.

Description of key information

The test substance has a vapour pressure 427.1 kPa at 20 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Vapour pressure:
427.1 kPa
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

The vapour pressure of HFO-1234ze was determined to be 427.1 kPa at 20 °C with heated MKS pressure transducer (key study) and 420 kPa at 20 °C using the method of constant volume piezometer (supporting study).
