Additional information

According to Directive 67/548/EEC, when a substance is classified as corrosive and assigned R34, the risk of severe damage to eyes is considered implicit. Effects on respiratory irritation: highly irritating

Justification for classification or non-classification

The test substance causes visible necrosis through the epidermis and into the dermis of rat and mouse skin after application of the test substance for between 3 minutes and 1 hour. It is therefore classified as R34: causes burns under the criteria of Directive 67/548/EEC and Corrosive category 1B under GHS as reflected by Regulation (EC) 1272/2008.
