Description of key information

The acute toxicity for fish (Danio rerio) of 3,5 -dichlorophenyl isocyanate was assessed according to the EU method C.1, Acute Toxicity for Fish (Bayer, 1995). In the test, analytical monitoring is carried out by measuring the concentrations of the degradation product 3,5 -dichloroaniline using a HPLC method, since the parent compound itself is not detectable by HPLC. Based on the geometric mean (LC0/LC100), a LC50 for 3,5 -dichloroaniline was found to be 5.99 mg/l. The corresponding concentration of 3,5-dichlorophenyl isocyanate assuming complete hydrolysis is 6.96 mg/L.
