Description of key information

Testing the flammability, the substance melted when approached by the ignition flame. The substance didn't burn down or burn up.
In accordance with section 1 of REACH Annex XI, the studies on pyrophoric property and flammability in contact with water do not need to be conducted as:
(a) No flammability in contact with water: Carbon dioxide is formed through the reaction of 3,5-dichlorophenyl isocyanate with water, which is not flammable.
(b) Pyrophoric property: Experience in production or handling; substance is known to be stable at room temperature.

Justification for classification or non-classification

A classification as flammable solid can be ruled out. Further, due to the low melting point, self-heating behavior can be excluded. The hazard of flammability is then described by the flash point of 126°C.
