Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

The vapour pressure at environmental temperatures is negligibly low and  thus not relevant.

The vapour pressures of potassium silicates have not been determined, but  they are not expected to vary significantly from those established for  the respective sodium silicates:

molar ratio (SiO2:Na2O)      vapour pressure      at °C
        1.0                    0.0103 hPa         1175
        2.0                    0.0031 hPa         1165
        3.0                    0.0016 hPa         1172

Description of key information

0.0103 hPa at 1175 °C

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

However, according to REACh legislation, Annex VII, 7.5, column 2, the study does not need to be conducted, since the melting point of sodium silicate is far above 300 °C.
