Description of key information

In an activated sludge respiration inhibition test performed according to OECD/EC test guidelines, the EC50 was determined to be >100 mg/l and the EC10 >=100 mg/l.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for microorganisms:
100 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for microorganisms:
100 mg/L

Additional information

In an activated sludge respiration inhibition test performed according to OECD/EC test guidelines, a loading rate of 100 mg/l substance was used. The activated sludge of a predominantly domestic sewage did not show significant inhibition of the respiration rate, at 100 mg/l 11% and 0% inhibition was measured. Hence, the EC50 of 2-amylanthraquinone exceeded a loading rate of 100 mg/l, while the EC10 was determined to be >=100 mg/l.
