Formulation
- Registration/ Notification status for the use:
- use registered according to REACH Article 10; total tonnage manufactured/imported >=10tonnes/year per registrant
- Name:
- Sodium hexafluorosilicate
- Type of composition:
- legal entity composition of the substance
- State / form:
- solid: particulate/powder
- Reference substance:
- Sodium hexafluorosilicate
- Name of activity / technique:
- ERC2 : For every transfer of the disodium fluosilicate there is an extraction slot nearby capturing the dust. The air of extraction circuit pass through filter before being rejected outside the facility.
Daily, the small amount of products fallen on the floor is collected in cans with cleaning machines. The cans are then destroyed by a dedicated company. So, there is almost no atmospheric or soil release. - Environmental release category (ERC):
- ERC2: Formulation into mixture
- Name of activity / technique:
- PROC3, PROC8a, PROC8b, PROC14 : The workers are protected by LEV, masks, gloves, glasses when they are operating with the substances of mixtures. Transfer of the substance from bags to a mixer (by worker). Closed mixing of the substances.Transfer in 1 tonne big bang (close transfer) then transfer in another machine (granulation). Transfer in a tank and then packaging in bags (by worker).
- Process category (PROC):
- PROC 4: Chemical production where opportunity for exposure arises
- Product category formulated:
- PC 38: Welding and soldering products, flux products
- Substance supplied to that use in form of:
- in a mixture
- Insignificant exposure via the following route:
- dermal
- eye
- inhalatory
- Insignificant release via the following route:
- water
- Pattern of exposure:
- occasional
- Place of use:
- indoor
- Route affected:
- inhalation
- Place of use:
- indoor
