Description of key information

The substance has a low potential for bioaccumulation due to rapid hydrolysis.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

BCF (aquatic species):
53 dimensionless

Additional information

Low accumulation potential is expected for disodium hexafluorosilicate due to rapid dissociation/ hydrolysis in aqueous media. Fluoride, which is the transformation product, has low BCF. According to EU RAR for hydrogen fluoride, BCG values for fluoride in fish were 53 -58 (d.w) and <2 (w.w.) and for crustacea was <1 (w.w). For classification as bioaccumulative, BCF should be higher than 500.Thus, the substance does not classify for bioaccumulation.
