Additional information

Disodium hexafluorosilicate gave negative results in Amest tests and Bacillus subtilis Rec- assay system. Therefore, it is not considered as a mutagen.

As read-across to inorganic fluorides is justified due to hydrolysis, results obtained for NaF or HF published in the EU RAR of HF conclude that fluorides does not cause effects to DNA; thus, it cannot be considered as genotoxic.

Endpoint Conclusion: No adverse effect observed (negative)

Justification for classification or non-classification

No classification is proposed. Disodium hexafluorosilicate gave negative results in Ames test and Bacillus subtilis Rec- assay system. Fluorides are nor considered as genotoxic. Therefore, disodium hexafluorosilicate is not considered as a mutagen.
