Description of key information

The boiling point of dodecane-12-lactam at 1013 hPa is approximately 348 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Boiling point at 101 325 Pa:
348 °C

Additional information

A study was performed with limited documentation. The resulting normal boiling point is part of a vapor pressure curve which is in good agreement with other vapor pressure curves reported in chapter 4.6. It is supported by additional evidence:

- Date and responsibility of the test are reported.

- Test substance: Not documented but certainly of high purity.

- Method: Not documented but certainly comparable to OECD TG 104.

- Dependence on temperature: The whole vapour pressure curve shows normal behaviour and good agreement within itself and with independently determined vapour pressure curves.

- QSAR check: MpBpWin v1.40 from the EPIWIN software suite predicts a value of 361 °C, i.e. the magnitude of the value is reasonable.
