Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

According to Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment R10.5 the PNEC sediment was calculated with the Equilibrium partitioning method.

The log Kow of 2.7 indicates a minor risk of accumulation in sediment. According to the model calculation with Mackay (see 5.4.3.) sediment is not the main target for the distribution of Dodecane-12-lactam in the environment. Only 5.9% of the total amount released to the environment end up in the sediment, more than 80% will remain in the hydrosphere. Furthermore the substance is readily biodegradable within the 10 day-window. The longterm exposure of sediments is therefore unlikely.
