Description of key information

Based on its low log Kow (-1.1) and its ready biodegradability, Bis-MPA is not expected to bioconcentrate. Being fully ionised at enviornmental pH, it is necessary to demonstrate that the ionised form has no specific interactions that provide an alternative bioaccumulation pathway to lipophilicity. It was therefore necessary to perform read-across to a structurally similar subtstance. Based on the read-across approach to a structurally similar substance, it is concluded that Bis-MPA has low potential for bioaccumulation.
