- Under the conditions of the test, the boiling point of the test substance was determined to be 498 K (225 ºC).
- Executive summary:
In a GLP compliant boiling point study conducted in line with standardised guidelines OECD Guideline 103, EU Method A.2 and EPA OPPTS 830.7220, the boiling point of the test substance was determined using the method according to Siwoloboff. The boiling point of the substance was determined to be 498 (225 ºC) at 101.325 kPa.

Correction to normalised pressure
The atmospheric pressure at the time of the experiment was 96.12 kPa (Meteo Suisse). A correction of the temperature to normalised pressure (101.325 kPa) was made. The determination of this corrected factor was made using the Sidney Young equation as recommended in OECD Guideline 103.

Description of key information
The boiling point of 1-phenylethyl acetate was determined to be 448 K (225ºC) at 101.325 kPa according to a study performed in line with OECD Guideline 103, EU Method A.2 and EPA OPPTS 830.7220.

The key study (Givaudan, 2010) was conducted in line with GLP and standardised guidelines with a sufficient level of detail to assess the quality of the study. The study was performed to a good standard and was assigned a reliability score of 1 in accordance with Klimisch (1997).
The supporting study (JECFA, 2001) contains limited information on materials and methods and results and discussion and was assigned a reliability score of 2 in accordance with Klimisch (1997).
