Description of key information

MMB is considered readily biodegradable in water.

Further tests on biodegradation in surface waters, sediments and soils are not required and exposure of sediments or soils to MMB is not expected.

Additional information

Based on the result of two reliable biodegradability studies MMB is classified as ultimately, inherently biodegradable.

No study on soil biodegradation of MMB is available, however exposure of MMB to soil is not expected.
