The lowest temperature at which the application of the ignition source causes the vapour of the test portion to ignite and propagate over the surface of the liquid was recorded as the flash point at the ambient barometric pressure (1006 hPa). This temperature was corrected automatically by the apparatus to standard atmospheric pressure (1013 hPa).

In the main tests, ignitions were determined at 178.0 °C, 177.0 °C and 177.0 °C. The average value is 177.5 °C.
