Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

With high probability acutely not harmful to green algae.

No effects occurred on growth of the green algae Scenedesmus subspicatus (EEC 302/87) in the range of water solubility; EC50 (72h) > 100 mg/L, NOEC (72h) >= 100mg/L (nominal)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The toxicity to aquatic algae was investigated according to EEC-guideline 302/87, with Scenedesmus subspicatus as test species [CIBA-GEIGY 1992]. Due to the low water solubility of the test item a solubilizer was used to prepare the stock solution. Up to the highest test concentration of 100 mg/L (nominal) no inhibition of algal growth was observed. Hence, it can be concluded that the test substance is not harmful to algae.
