Description of key information

The test substance is not an oxidiser.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Oxidising properties:
no

Additional information

A study was performed to determine the oxidising property of test substance according to EU Method A.17.

The maximum burning rates of the test substance and reference substance are 1.26 and 3.51 mm/sec respectively. A reduced testing programme was employed because the results adequately demonstrate that the test substance attenuated the burning of the cellulose rather than enhanced it.

Under the test conditions, the test substance is not oxidising (Harper DJ, 1991).

No classification is required for oxidising properties according to EC criteria (67/548/EEC) and according to CLP criteria (EC 1272/2008).

Justification for classification or non-classification

No classification is required for oxidising properties according to EC criteria (67/548/EEC) and according to CLP criteria (EC 1272/2008).
