Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:

Guideline:
OECD Guideline 111 (Hydrolysis as a Function of pH)
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method C.7 (Degradation: Abiotic Degradation: Hydrolysis as a Function of pH)
GLP compliance:
no
Remarks:
The hydrolysis rate is too fast and rigorous guideline test is not possible.
Specific details on test material used for the study:
SOURCE OF TEST MATERIAL
- Supplier: Borica Co., Ltd.
- Lot number: 000563P
- Expiration date of the lot/batch: 2018-Jun-03
- CAS number: 68586-02-7
Radiolabelling:
no
Analytical monitoring:
yes
Details on sampling:
- Sampling intervals for the parent/transformation products: The concentration of test substance in the test sample was determined at time points between 0 & 60 minutes based on quantification of the hydrolysis product. Sampling point: 0, 5, 10, 25, 40, 60 min.
- Sampling method: The test was performed at 30°C. An amount of test substance (above the water solubility) was added to the buffer solution. The amount of hydrolysis products formed was determined as function of time. The test was performed in duplicate. At each sampling time, samples were taken from each test and analyzed in duplicate.

Description of key information

Study following OECD guideline 111 with deviation due to rapid hydrolysis.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Half-life for hydrolysis:
30 min
at the temperature of:
30 °C

Additional information

Degrades rapidly when diluted in water, with the visible formation of titanium oxide as a precipitate within minutes of adding to water.

Half-life not possible to measure, but considered to be less than 30 minutes.
